Blackheath Clifftop Track

Tuesday 18 August 2015

The weather forecast for Tuesday 18th August was for a nice sunny day with 11 degrees. So I arranged to meet Peter at Govetts Leap and walked from there along the Clifftop Track to Evans Lookout and returned the same way.

I have never been on this track before! Spectacular views of the Grose Valley can be seen frequently. There's a great lookout with a view back to the Govetts Leap waterfall. The track goes through a variety of vegetation. At Hayward Gully Grevillea acanthifolia can be seen in the swampy area. This only grows in damp areas in the upper Blue Mountains.

The signs say 90 minutes one way. And that was about the time we took.

We had morning tea at Valley View Lookout next to Evans Lookout.

By the time we returned to the waterfall a breeze was blowing up the valley and blowing some of the water high in the air. On the other side of the creek it was like a light shower of rain!

I can recommend this walk.

Sorry, I never took any photos.
